The Roast of Ric Flair from Starrcast V-Friday, July 29th

Howdy Y'all!  Wanted to share some photos I took from The Roast of Ric Flair last Friday night in Nashville.  The night was a doozy indeed living up to the bill as a no holds barred verbal bashing of the 16-Time World Champion, Nature Boy!  Before I go any further, I would like to warn those that haven't watched yet that this special is NOT PG and should only be viewed by mature audiences.  They were ruthless!

The wrestling world was represented by Diamond Dallas Page, Eric Bischoff, Torrie Wilson, Vickie Guerrero, Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs, Bully Ray, veteran referee David Manning and Ric Flair's wife, Wendy, who was known in WCW as Fifi the Maid.  In a shocking surprise, Bully Ray of all people, decided not to participate in roasting anybody.  He just made goofy faces at everyone else as they did.  Boo!

The list of comedians on hand to smackdown Slick Ric, included Shuli Egar from Howard Stern fame, Tyler Morrison, Earl Skakel, Dan St. Germain and Casio Kid.  I wasn't familiar with these comics going into the show, but man they all brought it and nobody was safe.  They were vicious!  Met Shuli and his buddy Vinnie on Saturday at Starrcast.  They were really nice guys.

Former hockey great, Tie Domi, was also in attendance and took part in the roast.  Roasting wasn't the enforcer's forte and the comedians targeted him like blood in the water.  Another person that took a major brunt of the punishment was the host of the festivities, well-respected CBS sportscaster Brad Nessler.  They also came at Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs pretty rough, but he was a great sport since his recent health problems.  Knobbs was happy to be there as he was smiling the entire night.

Former WWE superstars, Mojo Rawley and Santino Marella were spotted in attendance as well as Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel.  Podcast host and the man behind Starrcast, Conrad Thompson was also in the house as well as local wrestlers, Johnny Morton, Michael Barry, LT Falk and the legendary Tony Falk.

There was a plethora of celebrity cameos that were sent in for the champ.  These included videos from Chevy Chase, Paul Walter Hauser, Jerry West, Aaron Rodgers, Rob Gronkowski, Eddie George, Lance Armstrong, Chael Sonnen, The Rock and current WWE Superstar, Dolph Ziggler, which was introduced on video under his real name, Nick Nemeth.

Flair was very emotional by the end of the night following The Rock's heartfelt video but was highly upset with the way the guys had disrespected the women during the roast.  I was disappointed that Ric didn't get to slam all those that participated, but they were running over on time and that really would have lasted all night.  Ricky Morton was spotted on the stage when it was over.  Wish they would have let him roast instead of Bully.

The Roast of Ric Flair was a blast!  I laughed so much I didn't think I was going to be able to talk on Saturday.  Luckily, I didn't lose my voice and Saturday was another busy day.  Stay tuned for more fun from the trip.  Woooooo!!!
