SummerSlam Saturday, July 30th

It was SummerSlam Saturday in Nash Vegas, but first it was all about The Four Horsemen, who were reuniting after all these years for one last time.  And with that came an unbelievable once in a lifetime opportunity to get a photo alongside the famous wrestling stable on the classic Jim Crockett Promotions set.  However, things didn't go entirely as planned because Ric Flair and Barry Windham were both fashionably late.  Legendary announcer David Crockett and Arn Anderson kept everyone updated with their statuses before they arrived.  The amazing photo included Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, J.J. Dillon, Lex Luger and David Crockett.  I saw the artwork later in the day at one of the Starrcast tables and had to capture it as well.

Bryan Danielson started meeting his legions of fans as soon as the doors opened and was very personable with everyone.  I ran into EPW Wrestling's very own Bashley Bones as well.

After our Horsemen photo, we met "The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be," WWE Hall of Famer, Bret "Hitman" Hart.  Unfortunately, Bret was late as well.  When he finally made it, he couldn't contain his excitement and hijacked the Horsemen photo ops to get one of his own.  That's right.  It was an epic "Excellence of Execution" mashup with "The Symbol of Excellence" that was perfect!

Following The Hitman, we met another Hall of Famer, Former Senior Vice President of WCW and Co-host of the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff.

And my personal favorite highlight from the day was meeting this beauty.  The one and only, Karen Jarrett.  She made this ole boy's day!  Woooooo!!  Be still my heart!

Then, we got to browse around Starrcast, soaking in all the sights which included lots of wrestler artwork, action figures and many more neat, one-of-a-kind collectibles.

A few of the creators from the new video game, Wrestlequest were also on hand.  You could actually play the game as well.

There were so many tables where you could meet your favorite wrestlers and grab some of their merch and/or autographs.  I even caught up with Virgil while strutting through Starrcast.

Starrcast consisted of three buildings at the Nashville Fairgrounds.  One building was for the meet and greets, the other was for the live wrestling events that was going on during the weekend and the third building was for these special stage events.

We attended the One Last Ride For the Horsemen gathering which was hosted by the legendary Tony Schiavone.  They shared many entertaining stories and highlights from their time together.

Next, it was time to head on over to the home of the Tennessee Titans, Nissan Stadium for "The Biggest Party of the Summer" SummerSlam!

WWE actually had a DJ rippin' it up on the ones and twos when we arrived!

Just going to share a few of my favorite moments from the premium live event since everyone knows the results by now.  One definitely was the return of Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky.  The crowd loved Knoxville's own, Bianca Belair! This was a win all around since they've finally decided to transform Becky back into "The Man" as well.  Thank goodness!

Social media personality, Logan Paul had another impressive showing.

There was a lowlight to the event and it was rather significant.  When it started getting dark, the lights they turned on blinded a vast majority of the fans in attendance. We heard chants of "We can't see" and "Turn off the lights" the rest of the night.

Edge's return was so cool!

Pat McAfee's choir that sang, "Bum ass Corbin" was right behind us.

Brock Lesnar's entrance while driving a tractor and then picking up the ring during the match is one of those moments that people will remember for years to come.

And with that Summerslam 2022 was officially in-the-books.  What a jam-packed day filled with so many wrestling memories, but wait.....There's more.  Ric Flair's Last Match.
